There is an array of diet plans out there, all promising to help you to slim. When it comes to losing weight, the secret can be to finding a method which suits you and your lifestyle. Most importantly, eating a balanced and varied diet and regularly exercising comes highly recommended for healthy weight loss. However, there are a number of lesser known diet plans which claim to help you to kickstart weight loss.
Tonight, one slimmer took on the blender diet, which is also known as the NutriBullet Lean 7-day transformation plan, during How to Lose Weight Well.
So, what does the blender diet involve?
Following this diet means replacing two of your three daily meals with smoothies.
These drinks are made up with plenty of vegetables, as well as some fruit.
As well as two healthy snacks, a portion-controlled meal is also allowed each day – however slimmers must “chew longer” than usual, Dr Xand said.
What’s not allowed on the blender diet?
Dairy, alcohol, fried foods, and sugar are banned on this short-term diet plan.
This means that fizzy drinks are also off the menu.
While the dieter did lose more than a stone in the space of two weeks on the blender diet, it’s important to remember that crash dieting is frowned upon by some health professionals.
During an exclusive interview, Cecilia Harris, who is a co-founder of the lifestyle platform Results with Lucy, explained that “spot training” one area of the body in order to lose weight is not possible.
Cecilia, 49, said: “You start losing weight from all parts of your body and it could be from your tummy first, or it could be from your legs, or your bottom – but in general, it’s just going to come off everywhere.”
She went on to explain that it’s crucial that you create a calorie deficit, should you be aiming to lose a few pounds.
“It’s about creating a calorie deficit,” the personal trainer said. “It’s the only way you’re going to lose body fat.”
