Pastor Paul Begley, an evangelical preacher from West Lafayette in Indiana, has warned America to brace itself for the Blood Moon. The Blood Moon eclipse will peak over the US between the nights of January 20 and January 21, passing over Washington DC. The preacher said: “Something biblical is going on with the signs of the Second Coming of Christ.” Pastor Begley labelled the Blood Moon an incredibly spiritual phenomenon and fulfilment of prophecy.
According to the firebrand preacher, it is ironic the Blood Moon arrives on the second anniversary of President Donald Trump’s inauguration to office.
But the most bizarre coincidence, the preacher said, is President Trump was born on a Blood Moon on June 14, 1946 – exactly 700 days before Israel was declared a nation.
Pastor Begley said: “Jesus wants to be sure we understand that in the last days there will be signs in the Sun, the Moon, the stars and of course the stress of nations on the planet.
“Look what’s going on in Europe as the protesting is breaking out – the Yellow Vest protest not only in France – it’s now spread into the Netherlands, into Belgium it got very ugly, it’s getting dangerous in Germany, they’re starting in Italy.

“And even in Canada, and so we begin to see this unrest in the European nations.
“We’ve already seen the Middle East in a state of madness for seven years and now Israel is being surrounded by the very nations that Ezekiel 38 says is going to surround Israel.
“What does all this mean? Well back to the Super Blood Moon. Where’s the Blood Moon in the Bible?”
Pastor Begley claimed a direct mention of the Blood Moon can be found in the Book of Joel – prophetic scripture from the Old Testament.
Joel 2:28-31 reads: “And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions.
“Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days.
“I will show wonders in the heavens and on the earth, blood and fire and billows of smoke.
“The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.”
Pastor Begley stressed there is “no question” as to the January Blood Moon being a prophetic sign foretold by the Bible.
Some biblical experts, however, have refuted pastor Begley’s claims and said the Blood Moon is not a sign of the Apocalypse.
Astronomers also agree the Blood Moon is not a supernatural phenomenon but rather a perfectly natural result of refracted sunlight falling on the Moon.
Royal Observatory Greenwich astronomer Tom Kerss told Express.co.uk red sunlight filtered out by the Earth’s atmosphere paints the Blood Moon red.
